THE BRIT LIST

Dan’s original spec teen horror screenplay DO OR DIE sold to Michael Kuhn’s Qwerty Films (THE DUCHESS, GOLDA, SUITE FRANCAISE, THE LAST DAYS ON MARS) and subsequently made the prestigious Brit List — a curated list of unproduced scripts nominated by industry professionals to showcase exciting emerging UK screenwriters.

ICM | CURTIS BROWN

In Dan’s early screenwriting career, he was represented by Nick Reed — Head of ICM’s Motion Picture Literary Department in Los Angeles and Nick Marston — Head of Film & Television at Curtis Brown in London. Both of these experienced literary agents recognized Dan’s potential and natural flair for creating original characters, high-concept commercial stories and writing natural British and American dialogue.

SCREENWRITING AWARDS

Dan’s original screenplays and pilots have garnered numerous screenwriting accolades including Quarter-Finalist, Top 50, Semi-Finalist and Finalist. His US horror spec EYES OF EVE was a Finalist in the Breaking Walls Thriller Screenplay Contest and his Brit psychological thriller spec I-SELF named one of the Top 25 scripts in American Zoetrope’s prestigious annual screenwriting competition.

ISA | TOP 25

Dan was named one of the “Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch” in 2023 by the International Screenwriters’ Association. This highly regarded annual list highlights an emerging  screenwriter’s accolades and incredible motivation to elevate their craft. Dan was also included on the ISA’s exclusive development slate for the quality of his original spec film and series projects.

MIRAMAX FILMS | Script Reader

Dan started out in the film industry reading scripts for Miramax Films and has since read thousands of film and television screenplays as a script analyst, providing coverage and story development notes for both new writers and industry professionals. His inherent understanding of the craft has lead to many of his articles on story structure being quoted and referenced by academic screenwriting programs and websites.

WRITING PAD | LA

Though a highly skilled screenwriter for film, Dan wanted to gain more experience in writing for television and so took an intensive eight-week episodic writing program in the heart of Hollywood. Tutored by working industry pros Steven Peros (THE LOT), Daniel McLellan (LOST IN SPACE) and Ava Tramer (RENFIELD, ANGIE TRIBECA, ATYPICAL) he studied pilot story structure, crafting a season and working in a Writer’s Room.
